Fourteen-year-old AISL Harrow Hong Kong pupil and AISL Harrow Talent Awardee Zixi Huang has won silver for Hong Kong, China in the girls’ ILCA 4 at the 20th Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya, the youngest sailor on the Hong Kong team.
Zixi Huang closed the girls’ dinghy (ILCA 4) on 3 October 2026 with a silver medal, four points from gold, at Kaiyoh Yacht Harbor in Gamagori, Aichi Prefecture. Across 12 races she finished on 43 points, level with Thailand’s Pinchanok Klaysomboon. After the two worst scores were discarded, her net was 29. Klaysomboon’s net was 25. In ILCA scoring the lower total wins, so four points separated silver from gold.
She had gone into the final morning in third. Light air delayed the last two races by about an hour, and the last race was shortened when the breeze died after the start. Zixi crossed third and fourth in those two races, moved past South Korea’s Lee Songha, and held second. It was a series built on consistency rather than a string of wins: she led the fleet home in the opening race, then stayed in the medal fight for the rest of the week.
The result also carries the Jockey Club Outstanding Athletes Incentive Award of HK$500,000 for an Asian Games silver.
Zixi had achieved outstanding records in the past. The Hong Kong Sailing Federation named her winner of the 2025 ILCA 4 Asian Championship in the girls’ division at Qinhuangdao, Hong Kong’s first gold in women’s ILCA 4 at the Asian Championships. She also took the U16 girls’ title at the same event. At the 2026 ILCA 4 World Championships she finished sixth. At the ILCA 4 Youth European Championships in Los Alcázares she was seventh in the U16 girls’ division and 38th overall, in a regatta that doubled as an Asian Games qualifier.
She was part of the AISL Harrow Hong Kong team that won the gold fleet at the 2025 Inter-School Sailing Festival at the Royal Hong Kong Yacht Club, sailing with her sister Ziyan Huang and teammates David, Casie, Owen and Oliver. Ziyan, also an AISL Harrow Hong Kong pupil, represented Hong Kong in women’s ILCA 4 at the Hangzhou Asian Games at 14, then the youngest member of that sailing team.
